Scamps - Own Designs

Before I could begin my drafts, I created scamps of my own original ideas, taking inspiration from other designers.

To understand what sort of components I will need to include, I looked to annotate other DVD covers to help keep my own work professional and of a high quality.

To gain a better understanding of how I want my final piece to look, I drew out famous movies that varied in genre and style, this gave me a vast range of different ideas for when I come to decide my own layout and ideas.

Unit Brief

For my final piece, I will create a detailed DVD Cover, (Front, Back and Spine) of an original cartoon film designed by myself aimed towards a young demographic of around the age of 12. The cartoon is entitled "Snotbag and Bacon", which is the name of the two main characters I will design and develop myself. My themes will link around the Present and the Future, including such elements as futuristic sci-fi time travel, aliens and other scientific gadgets, but link them with present day normality that we take for granted and show the contrast between the two ideas through an array of obscure and comedic events.

Past, Present and Future Brainstorm

To find a start for my exam, I needed to find key words relating to each of the three words, "Past, Present and Future", I did 1 A4 for each of these topics and these helped me decide what I would write for my Unit Brief.
